There are things that seem impossible to make, that is, until they have been made.
Things like butter, ice cream, bread, and peanut butter.
Peanut butter is one of the foods I could eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nom Nom Nom.
It feels good to be able to make a staple, even a personal staple. To be able to make something out of raw materials that then I can mold and make to my own.
Adding in cinnamon, vanilla, even chocolate.
I can’t lie and say that we didn’t finish the entire jar in one night. The mix of vanilla and peanut butter is a crazy lovely mix in your mouth.
In other news, I just finished season 2 of Downton Abby… Spoiler alert….
I’M SO DANG HAPPY!! Finally finished season 2. I just want the story to end here. They live happily ever after and all’s well that ends well. And it happened in the snow no less. Maybe my husband would recreate that proposal for me… after he does the second Mr. Darcy proposal of course.
What a wonderful end to a Valentines day, as this peanut butter would be. Pair this with a note saying that you’re the peanut butter to my jelly will remind them how crazy you are and why they stay with you.
Homemade Peanut (or any nut) butter
Referenced averie cooks
- Simply blend up nuts until they pass through all the stages into creamy peanut butter.
- Then add any flavoring you want to taste.
- Try not to eat it all in one sitting.
- Never buy peanut butter in the grocery store again.

Your site is awesome, such great ideas! I used the TJ honey roasted peanuts, we can’t stop eating them and making peanut butter from them. Thanks to you!
There’s something so fulfilling from making something you buy and eat all the time, isn’t there?! And often, you save so much money
SO true. You know exactly what you’re eating and if I could grow the peanuts myself, I would just to see the butter from beginning to end.
Love your blog and awesome cover photo. Thanks for reading me!
